“A Killer Cajun Family Reunion:
Race for the Inheritance.”
It’s been ten years since the family gathered on T0bayou, to share gateau nan a, compare gumbo recipes and vie to score big with Papere Putzy in hopes of getting his grande fortune, and though they all could’ve stayed away for another ten years, Papere is Pas Bon and not long for the Bayou.
The Putzy clan descends upon the family houseboat - perfectly times with the Hurricane Catin- to prove who should carry on the family legacy as Papere Putzy prepares to tappe the cannett- or kick the can… of course, only the most talented, successful and entertaining Putzy will succeed and capture the family abundance… And Papere has more oil rights in Vermillion Parish than the Sonniers & Meaux’s put together comme ca.
It’s gonna be bad. Killer.
For over thirty years now, Big Brothers Big Sister of Acadiana has been reaching out to the youth of our community, serving at-risk youth from primarily single-parent homes. We do this by matching up volunteer adult role models one-to-one with these children. These “matches” spend time together a few times each month doing activities they both enjoy. This can range anywhere from fishing, to baking brownies, to playing in the park. Sometimes, it may be as simple as sitting and talking. When a volunteer becomes a “Big”, he/ she commits for one year to their “Little”; however, many of our matches choose to continue for several years thereafter. The experience of the relationship shared between “Bigs” and “Littles” is often life-changing…. for both the children and the volunteer.
If you would like more information on becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, or more information on enrolling a child in the the program, please contact us at 337.269.0454 or visit us online at www.acadianabigs.com.
